Biography

Paula Hearn Moore, J.D., M.B.A., MAcc, was graduated from the University of Memphis with a Juris Doctorate and Master of Business Administration (1993) and received both her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in accounting (1990) and her Master of Accountancy (2002) from UT Martin. After graduating from law school, she practiced law in Greenfield, Tennessee, from 1993 until 2011 with her late father, Robert Hearn.

In 2004, she joined UTM full-time and is now a tenured Professor of Accounting and Business Law. Within the accounting discipline, her teaching responsibilities primarily include Income Tax and Principles of Financial Accounting. Within the business law curriculum, she teaches primarily an undergraduate contracts course and a graduate course in Business Law and Ethics. Her collaborative research activity helped produce peer-reviewed articles in both accounting and business law.

Dr. Moore lives in her hometown of Greenfield with her husband, Allen, and their two daughters. Outside of her UTM employment, she serves on the Board of Directors of Greenfield Banking Company and of the Industrial Development Board of the City of Greenfield. She is an active member of the Greenfield First Presbyterian Church.
