Biography
Dr. Anthony Delmond is originally from Gainesville, Florida. His field work for his Ph.D. was in the areas of econometrics, industrial organization, and trade. Between his studies, Dr. Delmond held private-sector positions in accounting, IT, and database administration with large national corporations. He was hired to the University of Tennessee at Martin immediately upon earning his PhD in 2018, and he was tenured in 2024 as an Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at the University of Tennessee at Martin before accepting the role as Director of the Hendrix Chair of Excellence in Free Enterprise in the College of Business and Global Affairs. Dr. Delmond actively advises graduate and undergraduate students, trains the UT Martin academic quiz bowl team, mentors students, and guides student research. He has brought in more than $500,000 in grant funding. He has developed the Economics and Business Innovation Lab and is organizing a high school pitch competition. In addition to Dr. Delmond's discipline-specific research, he has a very active publication record in pedagogy (scholarship of teaching and learning), and much of his research is collaborative and/or cross-disciplinary. He has presented his work at many national and international conferences over the past 5 years.
